There are currently 50-60 juniors playing tennis at Monaleen TC. Weekly fun tournaments are held on Fridays from 3-4pm at a cost of 2 euro. Special holiday tournaments are also run at Christmas, Easter, Halloween and end of school year. These tournaments are run by the junior committee who need parental volunteers to continue to offer these tournaments to our juniors. Singles ladders are being run for children ages 8-16 at the orange, green and yellow ball level. Doubles leagues are also offered throughout the year. Junior club championships are run in May.
Both group & individual junior lessons are offered during the week as well as at the weekends. Terms usually start in Sept. as well as Jan./Feb. Please email for more information. The club has three Tennis Ireland Level 1 qualified coaches and one Level 2 coach.

Jennifer Colford

Certified Level 1 Tennis Coach 

Jennifer graduated with a B.S. in Human Nutrition, Magna cum Laude, from the University of Vermont in 1983. She then attended graduate school at Cornell University, earning a M.S. in 1987 and a Ph.D. in 1991 in Nutritional Biochemistry. After moving to Ireland in 1993, she worked part-time at the University of Limerick , first as a post-doctoral research associate then as a lecturer in Nutrition, Physiology, Toxicology, Biology and Biochemistry.
After spending a year in the U.S., she returned to Ireland in 2007 and decided to make a career change. A self- taught tennis player who took up the game in her thirties, she took the Irish Level 1 coaching course in Tennis and qualified as a Level 1 coach in 2012. She has since been coaching both children and adults part-time at Monaleen GAA T.C. Playing competitive tennis just in the past decade, she has won local open tournaments (Nenagh, Catholic Institute and South of Ireland) at the grade 3, 4, and 5 levels in singles, mixed doubles and ladies doubles. She was a member of the 2012 Monaleen team that won the grade 4 Munster Winter league and is a member of the current grade 3 Monaleen team.
Jennifer has served as chairperson of the Monaleen junior committee on 2 separate occasions for over 10 years. She currently organises the tennis lessons and junior camps at Monaleen as well as coaching junior and adult groups.

CJ Kelly

Certified Level 1 Tennis Coach

CJ has been coaching full time for 3 years in various clubs including Limerick Lawn tennis club, Ennis Tennis club, Ardnacrusha and Killaloe. He is a Grade 1 tennis player and has won titles such as the Connacht Senior Open and the the Munster Senior Clay Court Championships. He has also won Grade 1 Munster cups with Limerick Lawn Tennis Club. Among some of his coaching achievements Cj has guided the grade 5 mixed and grade 4 women's Limerick Lawn teams to victory in the Munster Winter League.
