The AGM for 2018 was held in the club house on the 28th of January 2018. Apart from the regular reports from Captains, Registrar, Chairman it has also been agreed a levy for lights. There is an increased cost involved in the ongoing project to provide state of the art LED lights on the new courts, to upgrade the lights on the existing courts to LED and to cover the additional maintenance costs associated with having 4 courts. In order to fund some of these costs, it was agreed at the recent AGM to place a once-off development levy of €100 on a family and adult membership for the 2018/2019 tennis season. This will result in the cost of family membership increasing to €250 from €150 and the cost of adult membership increasing to €195 from €95. The development levy will only be paid once by members. Any players joining or rejoining the club over the next 5 years will be required to pay the development levy as part of their first year's membership fee - unless the levy had been paid previously.

Winter League - January 31st
Monaleen TC's Grade 5 team of Ruth Buckley [Captain], Michelle McCarthy, Pat O'Shaughnessy and John Harkins welcomed Rushbrooke Tennis Club from Cobh on Sunday. The Monaleen team were in devastating form! The ladies won their doubles match 6-4, 6-4 while the men won their doubles match 6-2, 6-2. In the mixed doubles there was no let-up and Michelle and John won 6-2, 6-2 while Ruth and Pat won 6-1 6-4. A 4-0 win for Monaleen in quite testing windy conditions. Well done!!! Poor Cobh had a long journey back without even the satisfaction of winning one set! Our team has safely qualified for a home fixture in the quarter finals in 3 weeks time.
Our Grade 3 team were given a walkover at the weekend and are also safely into the knockout stages. The final two matches of the round robin stage take place next weekend. We have two teams on the road. We wish Brendan Carragher and his Grade 4 team the best of luck in Cork against Ballinlough TC on Sunday. A 2-2 draw will see the lads through there. <br />We also wish Ian Murray and his team the best of Luck in Waterford on the same day against St. Anne's.
